As Shepherd Moon Farm members you have agreed to work on the farm 4 hours during the season. We will also incorporate a pot-luck meal (lunch or supper depending on time of day) at the end of our working together to build community, talk about food systems, and share food ideas. Following are dates available for working on the farm.
Saturday, June 25 or Saturday, October 15. Two shifts available each Saturday: 8:00 – 12:00 am and 1:00 – 5:00 pm with lunch from 12:00 – 1:00 pm for BOTH shifts.
Tuesdays in August and September from 1:00 – 5:00
pm with potluck dinner following.
The Saturday work days will be more project oriented and physically taxing. In the spring this could include hauling manure, shoveling, planting, or mulching. Fall tasks may be tearing out beds and trellising or hauling wood for wood chips. Weekend work days have room for 8-10 people for each shift. On Tuesday afternoons we will be harvesting and washing root vegetables for CSA boxes the next day. Wash station work is wet but a little less hard on your muscles! We will have space for 4-6 people on Tuesday work days. This is your time to help and connect with the farm. We ask that any child under the age of 10 be accompanied by an adult explicitly t0 work with the child.
To sign-up for a work day, you can fill out the form below, or send an email with your day preference. We will keep you updated as work days fill up.
We’re looking forward to connecting and working with you all on the farm!
